All New Episodes Premiere Sat, Sept 15 at 9/8c.
After former Ikette Robbie Montgomery found out she could no longer sing, she took her mother's soul food recipes passed down through the generations and created the empire known as "Sweetie Pie's," St. Louis' iconic and wildly popular soul food restaurant run by Miss Robbie and her dynamic family.  Now with two thriving locations, a third location recently underway, a wedding to plan for her son Tim and his fiancé Jenae, and two grandsons to tend to, Miss Robbie is struggling to keep up with the demands between business and family.  Meanwhile, her son Tim has his hands full juggling his new role as sole restaurant manager, aspiring rapper and life as a new dad.  "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's" follows the loud, loving and still very musical Montgomery family as they struggle with expanding their family-owned business and creating a legacy to pass on to future generations, one soulful dish at a time.

Oprah, Chris Rock to Pitch Hit During Robin Roberts Medical Leave Along with Others

In the wake of Robin Roberts departing “Good Morning America” for an extended medical leave, she's leaving her spot in good hands with already stellar co-anchors. But before Robin bid adeu, she assured her seat would be warmed by those who knows the anchor chair as welll as she, someone who would bring as much class and intelligence to the morning news, and add the humor she's loved for. .“GMA” announced that a headline-making roster of stars will pitch in to keep the show’s momentum going, including Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Ripa, Chris Rock, Rob Lowe and the cast of ABC’s “Modern Family.” There will also be surprise guests during Roberts’ leave.

Roberts told viewers in July that she had been diagnosed with MDS, or, myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare blood disorder.  She was scheduled to begin an extended medical leave in preparation for a bone marrow transplant on Friday but moved the date to Thursday in order to fly home to Mississippi to be with her ailing mother, Lucimarian, and her family in the hurricane zone. She died later that evening.

"There's a point that really resonates with me when I think about this time of my life. Life provides losses and heartbreak for all of us, but the greatest tragedy is to have the experience and miss the meaning," Roberts said Thursday. "I am determined not to miss that meaning, because through it I have discovered that I have been given many gifts, gifts that will carry me through this difficult time."

She'll be back to the show soon, she said.

Trey Songz's latest "Chapter" takes Billboard No. 1

Jay-Z mimics Rocky at Philly Made In America fest

Jay-Z's entrance said it all: He bounced up and down on top of the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, mimicking Rocky before he took the stage in front of nearly 50,000. His song "Made In America" played in the background.

Jay-Z, like Rocky Balboa, has a rags-to-riches American dream story, and the 42-year-old entertainer — who grew up in the Brooklyn projects and released his debut album in 1996 — shared some of that through songs in his 90-minute set Saturday night at the Budweiser Made In America festival.

He entered from the back of the stage after running down the steps to perform "Public Service Announcement." That was followed with the night's first cameo: a prerecorded video with President Barack Obama.

Obama urged the crowd to vote this fall. He also said Jay-Z's story is "what Made In America means" and added that he enjoys listening to the rapper's music on his iPod.

Jay-Z headlined the first night of the two-day festival he curated, performing hits like "99 Problems," ''Dirt Off Your Shoulder," ''Big Pimpin'" and "Empire State of Mind."

The event is the first of its kind for the entrepreneurial Jay-Z, who is married to superstar Beyonce and owns a music management company, fashion line, nightclub and restaurant; he's also a co-owner of the Brooklyn Nets.

"Since you were so good to me, Philly, I'm going to be good to you tonight, Philly," Jay-Z yelled.

Rappers Pusha T and Big Sean hit the stage, and Kanye West followed, receiving an electrifying roar from the crowd. They performed a medley of hits, such as "Mercy," ''Dance" and "Can't Tell Me Nothing."

Jay-Z also brought out his former protégés and Philadelphians Freeway, Chris and Neff, as well as Memphis Bleek. Common, 2 Chainz and Swizz Beatz also made appearances.

The scene was colorful and energetic, as thousands of music fans shifted from the three stages on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to watch Skrillex, D'Angelo, Passion Pit, Janelle Monae, Calvin Harris and 10 other acts. Sunday's line-up includes Pearl Jam, Run DMC, Odd Future and Drake, who was in the crowd Saturday night.

The festival is being filmed as a documentary and will be directed by Ron Howard. Proceeds from the ticketed event will benefit United Way chapters.

Jay-Z closed the night with West, performing the smash hit "...In Paris." Then fireworks blasted.

Run DMC reunites for Philadelphia music festival

Run DMC performed for the first time in over a decade Sunday at the Made In America festival.

Under a video banner that read "Jam Master Jay Forever," the Queens, N.Y., natives rocked tens of thousands of fans at the festival in Philadelphia.

The 40-minute set included "It's Tricky" to a sea of flailing arms, Run putting on Adidas for "My Adidas," and a rocking version of "Walk This Way." Perhaps the most poignant moment came when Run talked about the group's breakup following the death of Jam Master Jay.

"After his assassination ... We put a silence on the group," Run said. Jam Master Jay, Run DMC's longtime DJ, was fatally shot in 2002. Run introduced Jay's sons T.J. and Jam Master J'Son, who performed "some beats."

Jay Carter

"There is a lack of representation for soul, progressive hip-hop, alternative and rock, represented under one roof, in the format of music festivals in Atlanta", states J Carter, ONE MusicFest Producer.

"We have noticed that while there are many pockets of individuals that share taste in the same music, rarely do you see them share in this together. ONE Musicfest was created with the idea of 'music as the universal language. Over time we aim to grow this fest into a phenomenon and bring together different sectors of individuals through a unique music platform."
