Just Saw Django Unchained

Atlanta media and celebrities got an early treat for Christmas with the advanced screening of Django Unchained, the must see film for Christmas this year.  The event was hosted by The 135th Street Agency and introduced by Atlanta's reality superstars Stevie J (Love & Hiip Hop Atlanta) and Trina Braxton (The Braxton's).

Set in the 1800's, just before the Civil War, slavery was still alive and well and Django played by Jaime Foxx is a slave and a husband on a mission to find his wife Broomhilda. Bought and freed by Dr. Schultz, a smooth talking German bounty hunter, Django teams up with the bogus dentist and becomes the south's first freed black bounty hunter.

Though his mission was clear to find his wife Broomhhilda (Kerry Washington), Django and Schultz kill and collect their bounty while on their way to the most famous plantation in the south. Candie Land. The plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) extends his hospitatlity with some apprehension for this free and outspoken black man. Django also encounters Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson), the most loyal-to-the-death house nigga ever seen on screen. Stephen had his master's back and roamed the plantation as if it were his own. After finding Broomhilda, Django must now rescue her from the grips of Candie Land and Stephen.

From beginning to end, Django Unchained is action packed and unsuspecting. There is no mistaken this is a Quentin Tarantino movie. The killings had his fingerprint all over it. There was no filter on death in this movie.

Lastly, Django Unchained is so full of unique terms and quotes I had to repeat some of my favs:
-Look, it's a nigger on a horse!
- Mandingo Fighting
- Beat-ass Nigga
- Like a pool of black tar, once it catches you, your ass is caught!

Django Unchained will be in theaters everywhere on Christmas Day.
Merry Christmas,
