'omg! Insider' Invades the Set of Tamar Braxton's 'Love and War' Video Shoot

Tamar Braxton, the youngest member of the Braxton family, took a break from shooting her music video, to chat with "omg! Insider's" Keltie Colleen about her new album.

Eve-Olution Starring Rapp-tress Eve

Rapper's followup to "Eve-Olution" out May 14 on FTR Music
"I miss my music," she tells us. "My hunger is different than the first time around"
"You can officially expect 'Lip Lock' on May 14," Eve promises in a new interview with Billboard.
While she originally started work on the follow up to 2002's "Eve-Olution" in 2007, Eve scrapped the project due to issues with her then-label, Interscope, and started over from scratch. "It's not the same record," she tells Billboard. "I just kept the same name. It took a minute to get out of the situation that I was in back then. That's what took so long."
Eve says that "Lip Lock" will be released on her own independent label, the recently formed FTR Music, or From the Ribs Music. The album will be distributed through Sony/Red.
The Grammy winning artist dropped a buzz single, titled "She Bad Bad," on Oct. 9, a track she considers different than anything she's done in the past. The video posted on Jan. 8 and has already hit over 1.2 million views on YouTube. "It blew me away," says Eve in response to the fan reception. "It makes me feel like people definitely did miss me and they want to hear some more." The remix of "She Bad Bad" features Pusha T and Juicy J.

Eve's new single, "Make it Out This Town," will emerge in the next three weeks. "It is a track about being in a dark place -- or you could literally say being in the town that you're in but you have bigger dreams or bigger hopes… just making it out of that situation and knowing that you can do whatever it is that you put your mind to. It's a song that I'm dedicating and using with my partnership with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America." The track features Gabe Saporta from Cobra Starship.
"Lip Lock" will also include guest appearances by Snoop Dogg and Chrisette Michele, as well as a few other "little surprises" that Eve alluded to.
"There are so many great tracks on the album," says Eve who ran Billboard though her favorites: "'Call Eve' is one of my favorites. I'm obsessed with it! 'Mom in the Kitchen' is the one with Snoop on it. I love that! Those and 'Make it Out This Town' -- which is a very positive record -- are probably my top 3."
The "Let Me Blow Your Mind" rapper refers to her latest endeavor as more musical than her past releases. "It's everywhere. There's some club stuff on there, there's some mid tempo stuff, there's some slow stuff on there," she revealed, adding, "It's not the sound that people are used to."
Regardless of her stylistic changes, Eve is confident that she'll still appeal to her loyal fans.
"One of the biggest things that I wanted to do on this album was make people realize why they fell in love with me in the first place and then take them on a journey to where I am now musically. My ear is different but I think people will recognize me. I think you'll hear that I'm in a happy place. I miss my music. My hunger is different than the first time around."

Steve Harvey Birthday Surprise Moves Everyone To Tears

steve harvey (crying)

I don't get to watch daytime television often, but it was Steve Harvey's 56th birthday recently and his television talk show decided to give him a b it of a surprise.

Live via satellite, Steve received a call and before video came up the voice said, "I just have one question, do you still love me baby?" With that, the tough talking comedian was overcome with emotion and could barely contain himself speaking through the tears. Even the audience was moved to tears.

Never without his own flair, the singer/dancer/actor donned a dapper looking cobalt and black Versace suit along with his signature black fedora. Looking good Ne-Yo!

Super Bowl 2013 is Ratings Gold With Alicia Keys, NFL Harbaugh Coaches, Ray Lewis and Beyonce'

Alicia Keys
Seems like Super Bowl 2013 is stacking the deck and will be packed full of action and history making.

Jim and John Harbaugh (l to r)
To begin, Alicia Keys will open up the show with the National Anthem, then NFL coaches and brothers Jim and John Harbaugh will face off on the field. Jim is the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers while his brother is the head coach for the Baltimore Ravens.

Ray Lewis
The Baltimore Ravens own Ray Lewis is making history as well. The 37 year-old linebacker will be making the Super Bowl his last game. Appropriately so. He announced his retirement earlier in the season like many before him, will be leaving the league on top; a champion.

Destiny's Child

And then there is the half-time show.....Singer Beyonce will take the stage and give a performance many other networks will likely run re-runs during to avoid a ratings massacre. Beyonce is currently working on her album and soon to release a new Destiny's Child album with bandmates Kelly Roland and Michelle Williams. Maybe the trio will offer up a special performance on the main-stage.

It is estimated with so much hoopla about this particular game, it'll have one of the highest ratings ever. One last thing to top it off will be to have our own President Barack Obama in the stands.

K. Michelle Finds Home With New Label

After a record-breaking first season of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, breakout reality star K. Michelle is getting a second chance to make a first impression. A record label finally decided K. Michelle is worthy enough to have a music home and many of had not heard of her when she had a deal the first time will get a chance now that she's signed with Warner Bros Music.

“I’m just really blessed to get a second chance. I have so much to sing about and so many stories to tell.”
When it comes to those stories, the singer has very clear ideas of what she doesn’t want to do with her debut album. “I don’t want to be crying, ‘Oh my God I’m hurt.’ We know I’m hurt, we all get hurt,” she said. “It has to say it in a way that women won’t say it…because I don’t care, I’m going to say what needs to be said.”

In 2008 K. Michelle was released from JIVE, pending word about her ex boo stealing from her. Not to mention he allegedly beat her. That he is former flame MeMpHiTz who is currently married to Lil Wayne's ex-wife LaToya Carter.

Since being dropped from JIVE, K. Michlle has been struggling to get the dream once stolen from her. I'd say with her massive noteriety from LHH, she's off to an amazing start.

Now if we can only get Rasheeda and Joseline a record deal.

NOW SHOWING: The Waffle Palace

Where can you go at 3am to get a hot meal that hasn’t been sitting under a heat lamp, see Big Foot and hear a drag queen sing the gospel? The Waffle Palace!

Now showing at Horizon Theatre in Atlanta’s Little 5 Points neighborhood, this raucous comedy boasts some of the most outrageous tales one could ever concoct from a personal experience. Taken from stories people have told of their trips to Waffle House restaurants, no one story is the same or ‘normal’ so it has to be true.

At the Waffle Palace in Atlanta, proprietor John Pickett and his graveyard crew fight to keep the doors open when developers push to shut them down. Almost anything goes in the Waffle Palace except for throwing Waffles and under-tipping. And please NEVER ask for pancakes!

The Waffle Palace will be showing at Horizon Theatre through March 17th. Tickets and performance times vary. Go to horizontheatre.com to get your tickets. Group rates are also available.

So So Def Recordings - home to platinum-selling acts such asJermaine Dupri, Xscape, Bow Wow, Jagged Edge and Da Brat - will celebrate 20 years of hit-making music at an All-Star Anniversary Concert on February 23 at the Fox Theater, announced founder/CEO Dupri at a press conference today at City Hall.
Appropriately staged in Atlanta's City Hall and flanked by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Jagged Edge, Da Brat, Kris Kross, Dem Franchize Boyz, Bonecrusher, Xscape, Dondria and veteran music executive Michael Mauldin, Dupri explained that the reunion concert will be a "rare moment in music" when various past and present So So Def artists and music contributors will come together on one stage for one night only.
"Not only is it an honor to be able to stand here 20 years after our very first release in 1993 -- Xscape's #1 single 'Just Kickin It' - but it's truly an achievement that we can bring everyone back together to celebrate over two decades of music excellence. "Atlanta has a thriving music industry, and So So Def Recordings has been an important part of that legacy for the past two decades," said Mayor Kasim Reed. "This milestone is another example of why Atlanta is the entertainment capital of the Southeast. I am pleased that So So Def has called our great city home for 20 years, and I wish the company continued success for many more years to come."
"As we acknowledge Jermaine Dupri's many years of excellence in the music and entertainment business, I am so proud of him, his So So Def Recordings label and all the So So Def artists for their individual dedication, history making and record book status," said Michael Mauldin. We are proud to call Atlanta the home of So So Def."

REPOST: Spike Lee Is No Quentin Tarantino

Always outspoken and unscensored, Uncle Luke used his weekly column in the Miami New Times to vent his frustration directly at Spike Lee's disdain for Quentin Tarantino's 'D'Jango Unchained':

Alex Izaguirre

Uncle Luke, the man whose booty-shaking madness made the U.S. Supreme Court stand up for free speech gets as nasty as he wants to be for Miami New Times. This week, Luke reviews the controversy surrounding Django Unchained. (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT)

Screw Spike Lee. Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained is a brilliant flick that more accurately depicts the African American experience than any of the 15 movies about black culture Lee's directed in his lifetime. It's why the movie took home a Golden Globe award for best screenplay over the weekend and why it was recently nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Since Django Unchained hit the theaters, Lee has been publicly trashing Tarantino. In announcing his personal boycott of the movie, the Do The Right Thing filmmaker tweeted, "American slavery was not a Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western," and "It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them."

Lee needs to get over himself. He's upset because Tarantino makes better movies. The man who put Malcolm X on the big screen is Hollywood's resident house negro; a bougie activist who wants to tell his fellow white auteurs how they can and can't depict African Americans.

He complains that Tarantino uses "nigger" too much (100 times) in Django Unchained, but show me a white man in the 1800s who wasn't dropping n-bombs left and right.

Tarantino is one of Tinseltown's most clever directors. Some of the most brutal scenes in Django Unchained are metaphors for the unfair racial inequality African-Americans still experience today. For instance, Leonardio DiCaprio's plantation owner character Calvin Candie trains some of his male slaves to fight to the death in a sport called "Mandingo Fighting."

When one of the slaves refuses to fight, Candie threatens to feed him to his wild dogs. That scene is analogous to professional boxing where white promoters control black fighters through fear and intimidation.

In another scene, a bunch of slaves are shocked to see Django riding a horse since blacks were never allowed to have one. That's like the people who stare at the dude who returns to the neighborhood driving a Bentley.

While on the horse, Django tells the slaves that he'll treat them worse than any white man ever will. That's the truth about blacks in positions of authority in today's corporate America. They will treat blacks worse than any white boss every could.

Lee could never pull off a movie like this. When he's not being an ass from his court side seats during New York Knicks games, he's making bull crap films that most African Americans cannot relate to.
Spike is upset because Samuel L. Jackson's character in the movie is just like him: a conniving and scheming Uncle Tom.

Dr. Heavenly Kimes and husband Dr. Damon Kimes
Dr. Heavenly's Business Prescriptions: You Can Have it All!This weekend, I had an opportunity to meet and exceptional woman, wife, mother and professional. Atlanta dentist and entrepreneur Dr. Heavenly Kimes allowed area taste makers to join her in celebrating the release of her new book 'Dr. Heavenly's Business Prescriptions: You Can Have it All'. In a private reception area at Frank Ski's Restaurant & Lounge, guests were treated to wine and appetizers while Dr. Heavenly engaged everyone with tips on how to build a business with an exit strategy in mind, maintaining work-life balance and what it feels like to answer a calling. She signed copies of her new book and gave away more than $3,000 in dental services.

Never more than arms length away was Dr. Damon Kimes, Dr. Heavenly's adoring husband. Constantly holding hands and embracing throughout the evening, the two presented a united front that life is good in the Kimes family and one key she shared about making her marriage work is by submitting to her husband. With a husband, three children and thee dogs, Dr. Heavenly is a self-proclaimed master of work-life balance. Incidentally, the word balance was constantly used in Dr. Heavenly's description of how she achieved much of her success.

Here are a few quotes from the evening from Dr. Heavenly:

"A lot of people think they don't have what it takes to be successful and that is exactly why they have not been successful.”

"Success starts with having the right mindset. You must change your mindset to think positive about the things that you want in life. When you learn to speak only about things that align with your purpose, think positively and have faith, you will attract positive things into your life and you’ll watch as your goals come to fruition."

"This book isn't for everyone. If you are OK with being mediocre, this book is NOT for you!"

"If you have a problem and don't want a solution, don't ask me."

To learn more about Dr. Heavenly Kimes, go to http://www.drheavenly.com and watch every Wednesday on Dr. Heavenly's Business Prescriptions at 7pm ET on AIB TV as well as on BlogTalkRadio for "Dr. Heavenly Radio."

A Revealing Look Into BeyoncĂ©’s Life (Exclusive Trailer)

Beyonce allows fans to look behind the curtains of her life with a reveal of the real Beyonce.
“I just had a feeling that something was going on,” she says, referring to her pregnancy.

The singer seemed to struggle with trying to keep the news under wraps. “They keep putting me in these tight clothes and trying to hide it,” she says at one point as an image of baby bump appears on screen. “It’s very difficult. I don’t know how I’m going to get through this.” (She famously announced the news on stage at 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.)
