‘Preachers of LA’ Dispels the Myth that Preachers are Perfect

Do we really need a reality show to dispel the myth that preachers aren't perfect? I think they tumbled and fell from that pedestal a while ago. But anyways....

preachers of la (press conf1)The cast of “Preachers of LA got up close, candid and personal at their press conference and premiere event at the Sunset Tower Hotel!
Oxygen hosted the event that included a panel discussion, never-before-seen clips and a red carpet for invited guests like The Game, Lil Mama, Goo Goo and many more! Destiny Child’s member Michelle Williams hosted the conference and performed along with Deitrick Haddon backed by his riveting choir!
EURweb associate, LaCora Stephens, was there to hear the pastors speak candidly about the slander and outrage about the upcoming docu-series. Bishop Noel Jones stated they made it their responsibility to keep each other in line. And with people like executive producers Dr. Holly Carter and Lemuel Plummer invested in the vision, it is sure to bring about a healthy view of preachers. Bishop McClendon stated, “It’s very important to use medians such as this to make the Gospel relevant.  If you actually look at the Gospels: Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, they actually are a reality show.”
Pastor Wayne Chaney made it very clear that the show is not an evangelic crusade, if you are expecting it to be that, you are going to be very disappointed and overly critical. Haddon exclaimed, “It’s a myth that preachers are perfect and that all preachers are after all of the church’s money. It’s a lot that has distracted the people from the house of God, the Kingdom and God.  I think this is the perfect way to reintroduce the Kingdom to the world.” When asked, what they want the audience to take away from the show, Pastor Ron Gibson stated, “That we learn to love our neighbors as we love ourselves and not be so quick to judge because you really don’t know our stories until you give us an opportunity to share.” Skateboarder Pastor Jay Heizlip, urges the audience to, “Give Preachers of LA an honest opportunity.”
As you can imagine, when speaking to preachers, many statements can be made, but Bishop Noel Jones goal sounded loudly! At the end of the day, He is “…looking for God to be God, not God’s man. We have become so iconoclastic in our disposition towards preachers when the truth is: there is only one mediator between man and God and that is Jesus.”
Stay tuned for the premiere on Wednesday, October 9th at 10pm ET/PT on Oxygen. More info atwww.oxygen.com.
